KAIA Clothing responds to the climate emergency with a range of sustainable clothing, carefully curated from environmentally friendly suppliers, made from 3rd party verified sustainable manufacturing.
We believe that in order to interrupt the consumption of 100 billion polluting garments manufactured annually, urgent action is needed. Fast fashion emits 1 billion tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere every year and is a worse polluter than shipping and aviation combined.
There are currently 11,200 charity shops across the UK, which serve a population of 66 million. To advocates who adopt the position that everyone should cease buying new clothing altogether, this would mean that existing charity shops would each need the capacity to clothe 6,000 people. It's a flawed strategy, and so KAIA Clothing propose something that looks at the crisis with a somewhat wider lense.
ConnectAmericas is the largest business platform in Latin America and the Caribbean created in 2014 by the Inter-American Development Bank in collaboration with Google, Mastercard, Sealand, Meta and DHL.
Our objective is to help small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) do more and better business and investments in their countries and abroad. We provide free training for entrepreneurs, we support them in their internationalization process, we connect them with clients and suppliers abroad and we facilitate them with financing options for SMEs.
Likewise, supporting the IDB’s 2025 vision, ConnectAmericas generates activities focused on small and medium-sized companies, gender and diversity, climate change, sustainability and nearshoring.
ConnectAmericas is the first social network for businesses in the Americas, dedicated to promoting foreign trade and international investment. It seeks to help SMEs strengthen their businesses, by providing them access to communities of clients, suppliers and investors in the region and all over the world, segmented by industry. It also provides useful and simple information about procedures and regulations for international commerce, and about the financing opportunities available in IDB member countries.
ConnectAmericas was created by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) with the support of Google, DHL, Sealand, Facebook and Mastercard.
